A few days ago, I was talking with two friends. One who saw (and read) Call Me By Your Name, but knows very little about Timmy and Armie - for scientific purposes, we are going to call this friend M. My other friend doesn’t know anything about CMBYN (except that peaches are involved at some point), but don’t worry she plans to watch the motive at some point !! Anyway, we are going to call this second friend F.
So I don’t really remember what we were talking about but, at some point, M ask me :
(side note : we’re french.)
- Do you think they fucked together ? - Just to try ?
And I ask “Who ? Tim and Armie ?” and she said “yes” and I was like *girl, you have no idea which kind of world you just step a foot into right now 😏😏*. And, since I had two charmie-newbies on hand, who hasn’t been influenced by countless tumblr analytic posts and thousands words of fanfiction stories, I decided to conduct a little experimentation and show them some stuff so they could tell me if they think these two idiots has really a brotherly-plantonic-relationship or if Luca is really as good as a director as a matchmaker.
Still for scientific reason, I may have to specify that M and I are pretty close friends. We’ve known each other for more than ten years and we have this weird relationship that nobody around us really understand. We know what it is like to be super close without being physically intimate and I think it’s safe to say that we aren’t jumping on conclusions without thinking or knowing what we’re talking about.
So I decide to start with the weird italian interview in which Armie whispered Timmy’s name while trying to get his attention and taking his wedding band off - and staring at him with bedroom eyes. - The guy is in love or what ? - Sorry but he looks like me when I’m in M&G and Bill’s talking. (Bill has been her number 1 idol for more than a decade).

Let’s have a look at M’s reactions now :
-Wait, wait… -It’s crazy, isn’t it ?
-I mean… The guy is literally radiating love.
-I’m positively sure that something happened between them. -And if not… -They clearly want to.
-Truth is… If I was Liz, I’d suspect something lmao
Then I decided to show them the infamous Timmy’s speech at the Texas Film Awards. You know, for science.
And F :
-They seem pretty tie to one another 😏
And here is what M thought about that :
-He’s in love.
-“loving fatherhood” my ass. -[Tim] talks a lot about Armie’s wife.
-Must be the guilt.
-But there is definitely something. -It can’t be otherwise. -Oph (< that’s me !) -Come on -Even us, we’re not like that.
So my scientific conclusion is this :
It isn’t just us, my friends. Charmie is obvious to everybody.
